Wildly British

Staffordshire Arts

A new exhibition from Staffordshire Artist Lauren van Helmond opens at the Stafford Shire Hall Gallery from April, in which she reveals her love of both making and painting entwined with a fondness of old objects and animals, will take the viewer for a surreal wander through the British wilderness.

About Lauren van Helmond

For more than a decade Lauren has combined a background in Fine Art, Design Crafts and Illustration, to refine her artistic skills. Her love of home life – the people, animals, interiors, gardens, food and all that encompasses homeliness – is usually at the centre of all her designs.

Taking her inspiration from visits to Heritage sites and the decorative objects observed in museums, this new body of work is a result of her constant exploration of techniques and an evolution of ideas.

The exhibition features sculptural creatures, 2D and 3D illustrations, and a series of paintings and runs from April 1 through to 2 July
