A dizzying offering of FREE art, drama, film-making, singing, music and even drumming workshops are open to anyone to take part in the  ‘Creative Minds’ Festival which kicks off at the Regent Theatre in Stoke-on-Trent.

Over 22 workshops are available, and are completely free for individuals, schools and community groups to enjoy, as part of The Festival which takes place between 3-6 July.

The opportunities to pARTicpate in arts activities all form part of the Bertarelli Foundation Creative Minds Festival, which will see The Regent Theatre transformed into a hive of creative activity as arts practitioners from across the region and beyond run the workshops throughout the building, taking up every available space to get creative.

[blockquote]As with last years festival we are trying to increase the Creative Minds offer to the entire community, individuals as well as school and community groups.[/blockquote]

The week of participatory arts will end with Festival Saturday – and the whole theatre will be turned into one huge art gallery, enabling even more people from the community to come in and enjoy art.
Free Evening Performances
As well as the workshops during the day, during each of the five evenings, schools and community groups will also stage a series of performances of their own work – drama, music, film, song and visual arts.

On the final night of the festival – Saturday 6 July, 10 of the best acts during the week will be asked to perform again for the Bertarelli Foundation Awards Evening presented by popular BBC Radio Stoke presenter Paula White.

Meanwhile, visitors to the festival will also be able to select their own winner, using Twitter to vote for their favourite performance during the week.     The act with the most votes will be earn the 2013 People’s Choice Award.
About the Festival Organisers
Kirsty-Bertarelli-Creative-Minds-StaffordshireCreative Minds is headed up by the Bertarelli Foundation – a philanthropic organisation created by the Ernesto Bertarelli family, including Staffordshire born Kirsty Bertarelli,  Ernesto’s beautiful billionaire singer/songwriter wife and member of the Foundation’s governing board.  Kirsty, who spent her childhood in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent and has a personal passion for music and performing herself, found time to attend the event last year – no word yet if she will manage to return to her roots once again this year?

Staffordshire Arts is slightly confused about how groups and individuals actually find out what specific workshops are available and when, and find out what you can book onto.

We are trying to get clarification about this, but here are contact details.
