A brand new £4.75 million state of the art performing arts centre could be built in Staffordshire if plans submitted by Newcastle-Under-Lyme College get given the go ahead.
The centre for performing arts would be located on Knutton Lane, on the site of an old fire station and open in September 2014, and be able to offer up to 200 more students access to some of the the best performing arts training in the region supported by world class facilities. Jobs for specialist performance arts teaching and support staff would also be created to support the expanded performing arts education.
Karen Dobson, Principal and Chief Executive at Newcastle-Under-Lyme college said:
