Queen of crime writing, Agatha Christie, will have her writing style put under the microscope, when a panel of crime writing experts and journalists gather in Staffordshire to dissect her work. The cross examination is part of a unique ‘Go Back For Murder Crime Writers’ panel event taking place at The Regent Theatre, Stoke-on-Trent, in May, and you can join the jury and play witness to proceedings.
Amongst the panel of several seasoned crime authors will be journalist and author David Mark – self confessed scribbler, drinker, swearer, hater of many things, wearer of cardigans and author of the DS Aector McAvoy crime novels.
David has spent almost a decade as a crime reporter for the Yorkshire post, and more recently achieved national success selling over 100,000 copies of his best selling debut book – THE DARK WINTER, after having it tipped by TV’s Richard & Judy as part of their Book Club recommendations.
[blockquote]The Dark Winter is Fast-moving and tightly plotted, with strong characterisation and a likeable protagonist, this is an extremely promising debut: The Guardian[/blockquote]
After having spent 15 years as a hard nosed journalist, when asked about how he feels about his new found success as a successful crime writer David Mark said: “Well now, I can walk into Waterstone’s and I can see my book on a shelf. It feels wonderful, it does. Just frigging mental at the same time.”
