Best selling Staffordshire crime thriller author Mel Sherrat has had her brand new book ‘Secrets on the Estate‘ released.
The new book cleverly ties in to Mel’s immensely popular ‘ESTATE’ series of books, and contains the diary entries of the main characters from that existing trilogy. It also introduces readers to new characters from her forthcoming book Written in the Scars, coming out in November 2014.
Mel, who regularly speaks at the top crime writing events around the country, is now widely recognised as one of the leading psychological crime writers in the UK, and simply lives and breathes the genre – even her dog Dexter is named after the TV serial killer. Her style of writing – one she refers to as ‘Grit-Lit’, has earned her hundreds of 5 star reviews and all three books from her ESTATE SERIES have constantly been in the top 100 psychological thrillers chart since publication in 2012.
Mel, from Stoke-on-Trent, draws on some of her own past experiences working as a housing officer, to give a unique gritty viewpoint to her writing – which is often dark and violent. In addition to the ESTATE books, she has also had success with the character Detective Sergeant Allie Shenton, who appeared in her TAUNTING THE DEAD novel, and who will appear again as a central figure in two new books FOLLOW THE LEADER out in Spring 2015 and ONLY THE BRAVE in Summer 2015.
